What our customers say
Simon and Selena Gomersall
"Our boys have received fantastic coaching from Brett Henschell. They have improved in all aspects of their game and been given a great grounding in orthodox bowling and stroke-play. Brett has been able to correct small errors to prevent injury and help the boys achieve representative standard cricket. Best of all, they have had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed Brett’s firm but fun style. He is more than a coach. He has become a mentor to them. We commend his services without reservation."

"How fortunate was our son, Harrison, to be coached by Brett Henschell at Kenmore Junior Cricket Club from the under 11’s through to his final year at the club in the under 16’s. Harrison was a boy, with some talent, who was a little unsure and lacking in confidence. As each year progressed, Brett worked on every aspect of his cricket. This led to success at club, school and representative level. From that unsure boy, to a young man who was named in the Queensland under 17 Team, Brett has played an integral part in Harrison’s cricketing life and his development as a person. Further selection in both the Australian under 17 merit team and Australian under 18 talent squad have followed. It has been quite a journey from the under 11’s and Harrison now works as a coach for Henschell Cricket Academy. Brett has always blended hard work with encouragement and respect for the game. His final words as the boys took the field were always the same, “enjoy the game”. He has been, and remains, a wonderful mentor for our son."

"You and your coaches did a great job during the camp and the rapport that you all had with the boys was fantastic. The school would like to have your team involved with the camp same time next year."

"Our sons, Angus and Hugh, are now 18 years old. At the start of their secondary education (Year 8 at St Peters Lutheran College), the boys were fortunate to be coached by Brett Henschell, founder of Henschell Cricket Academy Pty Ltd. In the pre-season, they were members of the Kenmore Junior Cricket Club team also coached by Brett.
Brett's skilful coaching techniques brought out the best in Angus and Hugh. With Brett's experience and knowledge, he discovered their strengths and weaknesses, capitalised on their abilities, elevating them both to representing the school at the Southern Skies Challenge at the end of Year 8. By Year 10, under Brett's expertise and professionalism, the boys were playing First X1 for St Peters. Brett was able to establish the boys' individual talents in all aspects of the game but, in particular, their bowling actions. This transformation led Angus to open the bowling for the First X1, as well as climbing respectably up the batting order. Similarly, Brett expertly recognised Hugh's positives and rarely did Hugh not take a couple of wickets in a match. The relentless coaching drills in the field gave them both a strong throwing arm and safe catching hands.
Brett's coaching ethics taught the boys that he expects nothing more from them as he does of himself. Brett nurtured their confidence and, coupled with commitment and hard work in coaching sessions and matches, success was theirs. There is no doubt that Brett's enthusiastic hard work was the reason for the boys' success and love of cricket.
In their final year at St Peters, many of the boys in the First X1 team suggested to Brett that they wanted to repeat Year 12 for the sole reason of coming back to play cricket - that says it all!!!"
